Meet the Faculty

Maria Baldwin

My name is Maria Baldwin, and I am the lead counselor at Sequoyah High School. I have Masters degree in School Counseling from the University of West Georgia, and Bachelors of Science degree in Social Science from North Georgia College. I began my career in education in 1993, as a Social Studies teacher. I taught for 12 years with my last 5 as department chair. In 2005, I entered the counseling office, and in 2011 I became the lead counselor at Sequoyah. I am a native of Cherokee County and still live in the Free Home community with my husband, Matt, and my daughter, Emily.

Carrilynn Corbin

My name is Carrilynn Corbin, and I work with students whose last names begin with Q-Z. I also work with all ESOL students and coordinate the EOC Milestone testing, among other things. I hold an Education Specialist degree in Professional School Counseling from University of Georgia, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Mary’s College in California, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Mercer University. I have been an elementary and middle school teacher as well as a middle and high school counselor for a total of 28 years and have worked in public schools in California and Georgia. I especially enjoy helping students identify career interests and pathways to achieve those. When I’m not at work, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and spending time with my husband and daughter. Monica Intravia

My name is Monica Intravia and I am one of the counselors at Sequoyah High School. The 2016-2017 school year is my first year as a school counselor. I work with students whose last names begin with the letters N-P. I have a Master of Education Degree in Community Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Family Studies from Kent State University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor and have worked as a Mental Health Therapist for six years. In 2016, I completed the School Counseling Program at Georgia State University and became certified as a School Counselor for grades k-12. I love working with adolescents and helping them make the important decisions that will ultimately impact the rest of their lives. I was born and raised in Ohio and relocated to Georgia in 2013 with my husband and our two children, ages 2 and 6. Some of my interests include bike riding, running, scrapbooking, music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
