Elease Franchini

My name is Elease Franchini, and I am the Media Specialist.  I am a former English teacher (9 years in Cobb County) whose love of books, technology, and research lead me to the media center. I worked one year in Forsyth County as media specialist and one year at American Heritage Academy.  I have been at Sequoyah for 10 years, and during this time, I have had the privilege of working with a phenomenal staff to create a media center that is the academic center of the school. Through reading promotions, classroom instruction, technology integration, professional development, faculty collaboration, and visible administrative support, the media center is exceptionally involved in the daily learning taking place at SHS. The media center is a busy place with over 1200 classes using the media center and over 26,000 students on the pass last year. The SHS Media Center was chosen as a state Exemplary Media Center in 2011, and I was proud to be chosen as the Sequoyah Zone Media Specialist of the year for 2015-2016. I am also the proud sponsor of the state award-winning Tome Student Literacy Society.  Please feel free to contact me at
