About Polaris Evening Program

Polaris Evening Program was established in Fall 1992 as the “Open Campus Evening School” under Principal Robert Brown at Cherokee High School in Canton. Following Brown as Principal was Guy Berry.  Renovations at Cherokee High forced the school to move to Woodstock High School in 1998. In January 2006, Polaris opened a satellite campus at Cherokee High School to better serve the students living in the northern end of Cherokee County.

The satellite campus closed in January 2009 due to budget cuts and Polaris presently serves around 350 students, though the number varies from quarter to quarter. Dr. Curt Ashley is the current administrator in a long line of distinguished principals, including Bob Brown, Guy Berry, Dwight Pullen, Richard Landolt,  Dr. Judy Battles and Bob Hahn.
