2017-2018 Teacher Request Information

Category : Uncategorized

Dear Holly Springs Elementary School Parents,

It is the time of year when parents begin to think about the coming school year. I would like to advise that we, at Holly Springs Elementary STEM Academy, will not take requests for specific teachers for the 2017- 18 school year. We take great pride in the expertise of all our teachers at HSES, and I strongly believe that any teacher your child is assigned will help your child grow and learn to their fullest potential. At this time, teaching assignments for the coming year have not been finalized; therefore, we cannot guarantee who will be teaching in each grade level. If you believe your child needs a specific type of teacher, you may provide in writing a request stating the type of teacher you feel your child needs and why. Please do not include names of any teachers, as these letters will be removed from consideration. Additionally, if you feel your child needs to be separated from another student, you may send letters to request such. We will only consider these requests for extreme, verifiable circumstances. Often, student placements are determined by their academic needs (i.e. gifted, special education and EIP). Such placements will always take precedence over parent requests. Please understand that administration may not be available to take phone calls or meet with you regarding your requests. All requests must be submitted in writing. This is the best opportunity we can provide for your request to be taken into consideration when it is time to place students in classrooms. You may send your letters addressed to the proper administrator listed below. We will accept letters from April 1, 2017 through April 28, 2017. Thank you in advance for following these protocols. Doing so will ensure your letter is given consideration.

For students entering grades K, 1 or 2: send letters to Dr. Porter

For students entering grades 3, 4 or 5: send letters to Mr. Hultquist

Sincerely,

Donna Bertram Principal
