Through a partnership between Get Georgia Reading and myON, all educators, librarians, students and parents in Georgia have free access to thousands of enhanced digital books available in myON through August 31, 2018.

Digital books in the award-winning myON personalized literacy platform provide flexible reading scaffolds, embedded tools, and metrics to support and track student reading and growth.

Getting Started is Quick and Easy!
Go to and click the myON Login button.

  1. Enter the following login information:
    1. School Name: Get Georgia Reading (Type the first few letters and select from the drop-down menu.)
    2. Username: cherokeecounty
    3. Password:read
  2. Click onthe Sign In button, select a book and start reading!

Registration for New Students

The Cherokee County School District is launching a new online system for student registration beginning March 12, 2018!

Instead of handwriting information on a pile of paper forms in a school office, parents can log in from home to the Registration Gateway via CCSD’s website at  Through the user-friendly process that takes about 15 to 20 minutes, parents will enter their own identification information, such as emergency contact names and numbers, which will increase accuracy and eliminate redundancy. Required enrollment documents (birth certificate, proof of residency, etc.) also can be scanned and uploaded to the system from home.

After entering all their information online into our secure system, parents will be asked to schedule an appointment to bring the legally required documents for enrollment to the school. During this appointment, your records will be verified by the front office (and scanned and uploaded if you were unable to do this from home), and your child will participate in a brief assessment with a teacher to gauge his or her kindergarten readiness.


“Parents have been pleading with us for years to spare them from paper forms, so we’re very excited to have the technology capabilities to roll out these new online systems,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “This system not only is easier for parents, it also will reduce the cost and waste associated with paper forms, and eliminate the need for staff to spend valuable time typing information from forms into our student information system.”

Canvas Learning Management System

Cherokee County School District welcomes you to experience Canvas, our new Learning Management System, which will replace Aspen Pages and grade books beginning in the Fall of 2017. Below, you will find a step-by-step process to sign up and visit your child/children’s Canvas account.  You will need to set up a parent account in Canvas to view your child’s lessons, assignments, videos, resources, weblinks, and grades.

If you are a parent who participated in the 2016-2017 Canvas Pilot, you will not need to recreate an account since you already have one.

Step 1: Go to Or click on the link below and select “Parent Login”:

Step 2: Set up your Account:

Step 3: Parent Signup
Enter the following information

  1. Enter your name
  2. Enter your email
  3. Enter your child’s Username
    (This is your child’s School ID#)
  4. Enter your child’s password (This is your child’s GTID#)
  5. Click “You agree to the terms of use”
  6. Click “Start Participating”

You will receive an email from Instructure Canvas. Click the link provided in the email to finish the registration.

Step 4: Welcome Aboard!

To complete the registration process, fill out the following fields:

  1. Login: verify your email.
  2. Password: set your password.
  3. Time Zone: select your time zone from the drop- down menu. (we are in the Eastern Time Zone)
  4. Click “Register”. You will be redirected to the Canvas login page for your account.

You are now registered!

Go back to, click “Parent Login”, then log in using your email and password.    

To Observe Additional Students:
1. Select “Account”
2. Open “Settings”
3. Click “Observing”

o Add Another Student:

  1. Under “Username”, enter student’s School ID#
  2. Under “Password”, enter your child’s GTID #
  3. Click “Add Student”

Note: If you only have one student, you don’t need to “add student.”
