Cherokee County Schools follow a county-wide subject curriculum map. This means that ACE middle school students should not be missing or overlapping much information as they transition from their home school to ACE Academy and vice-versa. We hold our students just as accountable for their work and behavior while he or she is with us as did their home school.
Our teachers for language arts, math, reading, science, and social studies have the same classroom behavior management system, one which is based on individual and team points and another on individual warnings.
Progress reports go out every six weeks. Grades are broken down by chapter work with the following weights: assigned work – 30%, quizzes – 30%, and tests – 40%. Students will have three opportunities to pass a test. Curriculum mastery only applies to our high school students since they work at their own pace and middle school students do not. Our students will follow the county curriculum maps.
To the parents/guardians of our middle school students, our mission is to make sure each student is successful while attending ACE Academy and blend back into his or her home school once his or her contract expires. For this to happen, it is of utmost importance that there is regular communication between you and your child’s teachers. The most effective form of communication for us is email; however, if you do not have an account, we will call you. If one of us contacts you by email or voicemail, it is essential to your child’s success to promptly reply. Likewise, please email or call with any questions and/or concerns that you may have.
